In August 2011 I moved with my family to Binningen (CH), few km from Basel. One night in September, coming home after a dinner in town, I looked at the sky and saw a wonderful Milky Way. I realized that the seeing was perfect thanks to the low light pollution and immediately decided to buy a telescope. I have a degree in Astrophysics and since I was a child I loved to study the Universe, and now, almost sixty, I finally have the opportunity to see the stars from a good place!

When the brand new telescope Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain C8 arrived from Germany, the backyard of our house became the "Basel Astrophotography Observatory".

At the end of August 2014 we have moved to Cambridge UK, so now here I have the CAO ...
